Jake is a member of ENHYPEN, the six-member BELIFT LAB group that debuted on 30 November 2020. He came to the group from Brisbane in Australia, was among the members who asked for 'Moonstruck' on the tour set list, and in 2025 featured on Flo Rida's single 'Confessions'.
Jake is a member of ENHYPEN, the six-member group formed on Mnet’s I-LAND. BELIFT LAB’s official profile gives his birthday as 15 November 2002 and the group’s debut date as 30 November 2020.
ELLE Korea, in a March 2025 interview, described Australia as his home. Talking about performing abroad, Jake said: “Five years ago K-pop wasn’t well known in Brisbane, where I lived, but I hear it’s different now,” adding, “The wish to let my hometown know we exist is the same now as it was then.” In a Weverse Magazine interview on 3 June 2023 he said that because he had moved abroad and changed schools many times, he tries to enjoy each moment to the full and take it in, so as to leave no regret when it passes.
The sport he played at school shaped how he sees the team. He told the same interview that he had played a lot of team sports such as football since childhood, where every position matters and you cannot win if even one player tires. Then he added: “And besides, all seven of us bet our lives on this.”
Jake names ‘Polaroid Love’ as the song where he found his voice. In 2023 he explained that he heard ‘Bills’, a track on DARK BLOOD, as close to ‘Polaroid Love’ because he sang both “in the sound I think of as my real voice”. Singing comfortably, without copying anyone, had drawn a strong response, and he had felt more confident since. On ‘Karma’, from the same record, he had to do the opposite and push his voice out almost as a shout; it was not a range he was used to, but as a professional he wanted to carry it off, he said.
His voice has also opened and closed the story of an album. In NME’s review of DIMENSION : ANSWER on 10 January 2022, Rhian Daly noted that the previous album, DIMENSION : DILEMMA, ended on Jake’s question, and wrote that on ‘Outro : Day 2’, which closes the repackage, Jake asks “How should I live tomorrow? Where do I start?” and answers himself.
His ideas go into the staging as well. According to a Weverse Magazine interview on 19 November 2024, he first proposed the ‘Foreshadow’ stage on the ‘FATE PLUS’ tour. ‘Moonstruck’ was not originally in the set list of the ‘WALK THE LINE’ tour, Jake said, but it changed after the members asked for it because it suited the tour’s mood. In the ELLE Korea interview he also said he had taken part in shaping a set list that spares stamina and arrangements and performances fitted to large venues.
In concert, he said, he rasps his voice more. Of ‘Paranormal’ at ‘ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2024’ he said: “It’s a habit of mine; I rasp more in concerts,” because with an audience there he gets too excited to sing it exactly as set. On the ‘FATE’ tour he sang Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’, his audition song, and looking back he said it felt unreal to be singing at his own concert a song he grew up listening to.
English becomes his part of the job on overseas schedules. Jake said in 2024 that abroad he feels a strong sense of responsibility because the staff are all foreign: “Since I can speak English, I try to lead the members,” and at American broadcasters the members ask him for help. In Japan, he added, he is the one who gets help. ‘Daydream’, on ROMANCE : UNTOLD -daydream-, is mostly in English, so he could bring out the pronunciation and the accents comfortably, and his first whisper rap was recorded quickly despite his worries, he said.
He has worked outside the group too. Newsis reported on 10 January 2025 that Jake, with then-member Heeseung, featured on the American rapper Flo Rida’s single ‘Confessions’, released that day. “We grew up listening to Flo Rida’s songs from an early age, so this collaboration feels all the more special,” the two said through their agency. In 2024 Jake said he was learning production and that what drew him at the time was pop R&B.
At the media conference for the eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS, held in Seoul on 20 August 2026, Jake greeted reporters by saying the group was “back with a cool, energetic album” and then talked about the moment the title track was first heard. ‘Bloody Paradise’ was performed at the Busan shows of the ‘BLOOD SAGA’ world tour on 8 and 9 August, before release. “I was really surprised to see so many ENGENE singing along to a song that hadn’t been released,” he said. “I’m happy we could take so much strength from that into the comeback.”
Brazilian funk was a new genre for him. “It was the first time I’d tried the genre, so it felt different. I thought this was a chance to show something new,” he said. As a goal he named places the group has not been yet: “As long as ENGENE are there, I want to go and perform anytime. Performing in front of more and more ENGENE, on bigger stages, is the goal.”

ENHYPEN is a six-member boy group under BELIFT LAB, formed on Mnet's I-LAND and debuted on 30 November 2020. Its albums run as series from BORDER to THE SIN, and since March 2026 Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-Ki have promoted as six; THE SIN : BLISS became the group's first No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
'Bloody Paradise', the title track of ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS, took six No. 1 trophies on five Korean music shows from 26 August to 3 September 2026. CBC News and MK Sports wrote that it is the group's highest music-show tally, and the 30 August win made it their first grand slam.
ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS sold 2,099,048 copies in its first week on sale, from 21 to 27 August. The count is Hanteo Chart's, released on 28 August. It is the group's fifth double-million seller, and all five domestic albums it has released in three years have passed two million.
ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS entered Oricon's Weekly Album Ranking at number one on the chart dated 7 September. Oricon put the tally week at 24 to 30 August and estimated sales at 189,859 copies. It is the eleventh ENHYPEN album to top that chart.
ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated 5 September. Of its 98,000 album units, 92,000 were pure album sales, and it is the group's first time atop the chart since its 2020 debut.
