Sunoo is a member of ENHYPEN, the six-member BELIFT LAB group that debuted on 30 November 2020. He grew up dreaming of the stage in front of music shows, wrote a line of the fan song 'Highway 1009', and on his 2026 birthday gave 50 million won for young patients at Samsung Medical Center, 200 million in all.
Sunoo is a member of ENHYPEN, the six-member group formed on Mnet’s I-LAND. BELIFT LAB’s official profile gives his birthday as 24 June 2003 and the group’s debut date as 30 November 2020.
Sunoo’s dream began in front of the television. In a Weverse Magazine interview published on 23 December 2020, just after debut, he said he grew up singing and dancing along to music shows and dreaming of becoming a singer: “Singing and dancing on a dazzling stage looked so happy.” The day before that interview, 4 December, he had recorded the group’s first music show, KBS Music Bank.
The path broke off once before it carried on. When his voice broke in his first year of middle school, singing stopped being fun and he gave up the dream; in his second year an agency offered him an audition. He did not pass then, but was invited to try again in a year, and a year later the call really came; he went on to several auditions from there, he said. In high school he danced in the dance club.
His part in ‘Given-Taken’, from the debut album BORDER : DAY ONE, is something he talked about in detail in that interview. The line marks the point where the mood turns, and the producer asked for a strong impact, so he dropped his usual softness and recorded it as hard as he could; that is where the low register on the record came from.
In 2023 he took up the piano as a new hobby. In a Weverse Magazine interview on 1 June 2023 Sunoo said he had learned the piano as a child and had long found comfort in new-age music, and that he was taking lessons even on his days off. His goal: “Someday at a concert, I think it would be so good to play the piano while I sing.”
The same interview moves on to the recording of DARK BLOOD. The B-side he felt most attached to from the demo stage was ‘Bills’, with its fresh intro, and its low range surprised both him and the producer, he said. On a song like ‘Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)’, which has to lay down a calm but dark mood, he recorded with more breath in the voice.
In an interview on 24 November 2024 he spoke about judging his own tone. In the pre-chorus of ‘No Doubt’, the title track of ROMANCE : UNTOLD -daydream-, he trades lines with Jay; he could have sung it rough like Jay, but “I think the soft tone is my charm, so I recorded it in the direction of bringing that out”. For the ‘XO (Only If You Say Yes)’ stage he tried many expressions and settled on the wide smile, he said.
The fan song ‘Highway 1009’ on the second studio album carries a line he wrote: “so I can stand up again even when I’m worn out and tired”. Sunoo said that while writing it he pictured the moment on the ‘FATE’ tour when he rose on a lift and ENGENE had their lights on. He came to define what ENGENE mean to him as: “Even when I’m really exhausted and feel like I’ll collapse, when I see ENGENE I can’t help but get up.”
Giving was a long-held wish. In a Weverse Magazine interview on 23 January 2022, asked why he had brought to a fan meeting the donation card for an environmental charity that he had won on the group’s own quiz content, ‘ENHYPEN Sports High Quiz Show’, Sunoo said: “Honestly, I really wanted to donate,” and that he would like to give again whenever there was a chance.
Financial News reported that Sunoo donated 50 million won to Samsung Medical Center on his birthday, 24 June 2026. The money supports treatment for child and adolescent patients, and with the donations he has made since the previous year the total reaches 200 million won. According to the same report, the giving began from a wish to spend his birthday more meaningfully. “I hope many child and adolescent patients can draw a more hopeful future,” Sunoo said, adding that he would keep sharing love with many people.
On 22 January 2026 he co-hosted episode 913 of Mnet’s M Countdown as a special MC with Jungwon and Jake. Topstarnews, announcing the line-up the day before, noted that the programme was being run with special MCs.
At the media conference on 20 August before the eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS he said of the title track: “The melody line catches the ear and it’s very addictive, so it will be loved a lot.” He summed up its lyrics in one line: “Even in a crisis, even on the run, anywhere is paradise if the one you love is beside you.”

'Bloody Paradise', the title track of ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS, took six No. 1 trophies on five Korean music shows from 26 August to 3 September 2026. CBC News and MK Sports wrote that it is the group's highest music-show tally, and the 30 August win made it their first grand slam.
ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS sold 2,099,048 copies in its first week on sale, from 21 to 27 August. The count is Hanteo Chart's, released on 28 August. It is the group's fifth double-million seller, and all five domestic albums it has released in three years have passed two million.
ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS entered Oricon's Weekly Album Ranking at number one on the chart dated 7 September. Oricon put the tally week at 24 to 30 August and estimated sales at 189,859 copies. It is the eleventh ENHYPEN album to top that chart.
ENHYPEN's eighth mini album THE SIN : BLISS is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated 5 September. Of its 98,000 album units, 92,000 were pure album sales, and it is the group's first time atop the chart since its 2020 debut.
