Go Youn-jung Meets RESCENE's Zena: The Lookalike Story Explained
RESCENE's Zena met Go Youn-jung, the actress press call her lookalike, on Woni's channel on 21 August 2026: a meal offer, swapped numbers, then a pink mirror.
What happened
On 21 August 2026 Woni’s YouTube channel, 안녕하세요원이입니다잘부탁드립니다 (“Hello, this is Woni, nice to meet you”), published an episode titled ‘고윤정을 좋아하세요?’ (“Do you like Go Youn-jung?”). Its subject was bandmate Zena, who has said in RESCENE’s content that the actress Go Youn-jung is her role model, and whom Korean press have described as Go’s 닮은꼴 (lookalike) since the group’s debut. Liv joined her for the episode: per CBC뉴스, the pair set out together to retrace Go Youn-jung’s footsteps, and per OSEN it was Liv who put the resemblance question to Go directly and later suggested the two exchange contact details.
The episode ran the way OSEN and CBC뉴스 described it. Zena and Liv first visited Seoul Women’s University, Go’s alma mater, where, per CBC뉴스, they walked the campus, visited the 조형예술관 (Johyeong Arts Hall, the university’s design and fine-arts building) and recreated poses from photos of Go that had circulated online; they then moved to the hair-and-makeup shop the actress uses.
Zena said Go had been in the end room there while she was having her base done, but she had never managed to say hello. This time Go was waiting at the shop, and, per CBC뉴스, recognised Zena immediately and greeted her warmly. Asked whether she knew who Zena was, Go said, per OSEN, that she had enjoyed the channel and had watched Zena’s own Seongsu-dong outing.
Asked whether Zena resembled her, Go said, per OSEN, that she thought so. As they parted, Zena said she hoped they could meet at the shop again, per News1; Go instead proposed a meal — “Shall we eat next time?” — and, per OSEN, Liv suggested exchanging contacts, with Go saving RESCENE’s shared phone number and saying she would support them. The story then continued off camera. On 22 August, Zena wrote on RESCENE’s fan platform, per News1 and Mediafine Global, that Go had sent a full-length mirror and a stool — both pink, her favourite colour — to the group’s dorm as a housewarming gift after hearing she had moved, and that the parcel had arrived while Go was in Los Angeles.
Why is it trending?
The scale is on the watch page: 4,266,660 views on 26 August 2026, five days after upload. The press pickup was immediate: OSEN published on the evening of 21 August, News1 and Mediafine Global followed with Korean- and English-language gift write-ups on 22 August, and CBC뉴스 carried its own account on 26 August.
The episode had a backstory the press had already covered. Xports News reported on 29 June that Zena has drawn “resembles Go Youn-jung” reactions since RESCENE’s debut, and that when she and Woni appeared on comedian Kim Dae-hee’s YouTube channel 꼰대희 (Kkondae Hee) on 28 June, Kim raised the comparison again and Woni joked that it was now the third time. Inside the group’s own content it had become a bit: Liv and Zena’s fan tour was itself built around it, and Zena, as OSEN quoted her, named Go’s low-register speaking voice as the thing she likes most about the actress.
What stretched a single upload into a two-day story was the follow-up. The meal offer and the number exchange happened on camera; the mirror and stool were reported the next day, once Zena posted about them herself. CBC뉴스’s headline used the Korean internet term 성덕 (seongdeok, “successful fan”) for the outcome. The channel it happened on is no longer small: MyDaily reported it past one million subscribers by 20 June 2026, about four months after it opened.
