Why is Jennie's digital EP Fallen Angel trending? From the single 'Less than a Lover' to an EP
Jennie wrote, composed and directed the video for 'Less than a Lover', out 24 July 2026. The digital EP 'Fallen Angel' carrying it arrives 28 August 2026 with 3 songs, 6 including physical-only tracks; Soompi reported the single hit number one on iTunes in at least 27 regions.
What happened
Sports Kyunghyang reported that Jennie’s digital EP Fallen Angel will be released on 28 August 2026 at 1 p.m. KST (Korea Standard Time, the local time used for Korean release schedules). The digital edition carries 3 songs: ‘FALLEN ANGEL’, ‘HEAVEN’ and ‘Less than a Lover’. The same outlet reported that Jennie’s solo work is handled by the agency OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER).
The EP’s starting point is ‘Less than a Lover’. The song was released worldwide at the same moment on 24 July 2026 at 1 p.m. KST. Jennie took part in writing the lyrics and composing the song. She also took part in directing the music video, which was filmed in Spain.
The Korea Herald reported that Fallen Angel carries 6 songs in total. The same outlet reported that ‘Sweettooth’, ‘Lockitdown’ and ‘Face’ are exclusive to the physical edition of Fallen Angel — the CD package sold as an object — and are not on the digital edition. Speaking to The Korea Herald, Jennie said, “I’m so happy that these songs are finally being released as ‘Fallen Angel’…”
Why is it trending?
Work that began with a single song is being gathered into an EP about a month later, and that schedule is being set out again just before release. ‘Less than a Lover’, out in July, is already known, but on 28 August it returns as one of the 3 songs on the digital EP.
Chart records are part of the background. Soompi reported that ‘Less than a Lover’ reached number one on the iTunes Top Songs chart in at least 27 regions. The same outlet reported that the music video reached number one on YouTube’s worldwide Top Trending Music Videos chart and that the song reached number two on the Hot 100 chart of the South Korean music service Melon.
On top of that, the digital and physical editions do not carry the same tracks. The number of songs a listener gets depends on which edition they choose, so there is demand ahead of release to check how the two line-ups differ.
