NMIXX's Kyujin features on Jason Lee's 'Take A Chance' — and writes on it
JYP Entertainment announced on 17 August 2026 that Kyujin of NMIXX had featured on 'Take A Chance', a single by the saxophonist Jason Lee. Genie Music's album information credits her not only as a featured and backing vocalist but as one of its lyricists.
What happened
Kyujin of NMIXX has featured on ‘Take A Chance’, a single by the saxophonist Jason Lee. The song’s full title is ‘Take A Chance (Feat. KYUJIN of NMIXX)’, and the credits on Genie Music’s album page list her not only as the featured vocalist but among the lyricists and on backing vocals. The lyrics are credited to Jason Lee, Kyujin and IKKI; the composition to Jason Lee, edaich and IKKI; the arrangement to Jason Lee, edaich and Kim Seung-beom. Jason Lee plays the saxophone.
When and where
The release date is 17 August 2026. JYP Entertainment announced it the same day in a notice on NMIXX’s official site — “Jason Lee <Take A Chance (Feat. 규진 of NMIXX)>이 발매되었습니다” — with links to Melon, FLO, Genie, Bugs, VIBE, YouTube Music, Apple Music and Spotify. The single Take A Chance is distributed by Genie Music and STONE MUSIC and planned by 8BallTown, and Genie files it under R&B/soul. It carries two tracks: the featured version and ‘Take A Chance (Solo ver.)’.
Why it matters
This is the first time Kyujin’s name has appeared on a release outside NMIXX. Inside the group the lyric credits have so far belonged to Lily, Bae and Haewon — Lily on ‘Reality Hurts’ from the first full-length album Blue Valentine and on ‘Crescendo’ and ‘LOUD’ from the fifth mini album Heavy Serenade, Haewon on ‘PODIUM’ and ‘Crush On You’ from Blue Valentine, and Bae on ‘Different Girl’ and ‘Superior’ from Heavy Serenade. This credit adds Kyujin to that list for the first time, and it comes from work outside the group.
