Who Lily is

Lily (릴리) is a member of NMIXX, the six-member JYP Entertainment girl group, and debuted with them on 22 February 2022 with the single album AD MARE. The agency’s own profile page lists her first among the six. SBS Korean, the Australian broadcaster’s Korean-language service, introduced her in April 2025 as being from Marysville in the state of Victoria.

From a child performer in Australia to an audition stage

According to the same broadcast, Lily worked in Australia as a child actor and as lead vocalist of a children’s band, ASH (Association of Super Heroes), and played the lead role of Sarah in the Australian children’s film The Weatherman’s Umbrella. Korean viewers came to know her name on SBS’s audition show K-pop Star Season 4, where, the broadcast said, she finished fourth.

Xports News reported that the broadcast of 29 March 2015 settled the three contestants going through to the semi-final, and that Lily’s run ended one step short of it. “It’s a shame, but I loved this stage and I’m really grateful. I’ll keep making music,” she said on the night. SBS Korean reported that she went on to sign a trainee contract with JYP Entertainment.

The last member revealed

While a series of cover videos on the JYPn channel introduced the members one by one before the debut, Lily stayed out of sight until the end. Star News wrote that she was revealed at midnight on 19 November 2021 as the member who completed the group, her first public appearance in six years since K-pop Star Season 4 ended in April 2015. Newsis, reporting the same news, called her the “hidden card”.

A week later, on 26 November, a duet cover of Destiny’s Child’s ‘Survivor’ that she sang with Haewon went up. Xports News wrote that in the video Lily showed her flair with an easy, relaxed stage manner.

Voice and lyrics

The review of the second single album, ENTWURF, is where the critics picked out Lily’s voice. NME’s Gladys Yeo wrote on 20 September 2022 that ‘COOL (Your rainbow)’ gave the group “some of their best vocals to date – including a haunting opera-inspired outro by Lily”.

After the debut Lily moved into writing the group’s lyrics too. In its introduction to the first full-length album Blue Valentine (2025), JYP Entertainment described ‘Reality Hurts’ as the group’s first song written in English and said Lily took part in writing it. On the digital single ‘TIC TIC’ of February 2026, the Bugs credits list Lily and the featured singer Pabllo Vittar as lyricists.

On the fifth EP, Heavy Serenade, released in May 2026, she shares the lyric credit on ‘Crescendo’ and ‘IDESERVEIT’, as iMBC reported, and wrote the closing track, ‘LOUD’, on her own. In the same report she described the title track as “a song that likens a love so deep it is heavy to a serenade”, adding that “the word heavy means, if anything, a love too important to hold back”.

A unit OST and a homecoming

Lily’s voice is also on the first release made under two members’ names rather than the group’s. On 16 February 2023 she and Sullyoon released ‘The Moment’, Part 4 of the soundtrack to the Netflix series Love to Hate You, which the agency introduced as NMIXX’s first unit OST.

In June 2025 a fan-concert tour took her to Australia. SBS Korean described the shows at Festival Hall in Melbourne on 6 June and the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on 8 June as NMIXX’s first solo concerts in Australia, and covered them as a homecoming for the Victorian member. Of riding a parade truck at the São Paulo Carnival in February 2026, she told iMBC: “Performing on top of a truck was a really special experience.”

The song Lily wrote alone is ‘LOUD’, the last track on Heavy Serenade. The album introduction describes it as pop that mixes drum and bass with Jersey club beats, with layered vocal harmonies standing out in the chorus. ‘Reality Hurts’, the group’s first English-language song, is the fourth track on Blue Valentine.
