Sullyoon and Parc Jae Jung's 'Always' — the duet that began with one televised cover
Sullyoon of NMIXX released 'Always', a duet with the singer Parc Jae Jung, at 6 p.m. KST on 25 February 2026. Her agency JYP Entertainment said the collaboration came about after Parc heard her cover of his 'Let's Say Goodbye' on KBS Kpop's Limousine Service in 2023.
Sullyoon released ‘Always’, a duet with the singer Parc Jae Jung, at 6 p.m. KST on 25 February 2026. Her agency and the album notes point to the same starting place for it: Parc heard the cover of his ‘Let’s Say Goodbye’ that Sullyoon sang on KBS Kpop’s Limousine Service in 2023, and proposed the collaboration. What follows is the sequence from that cover to the release, in the order the reports set it out.
2023, Limousine Service, and ‘Let’s Say Goodbye’ sung 5 keys up
According to Newsis, Sullyoon appeared on KBS Kpop’s Limousine Service in 2023 and sang Parc Jae Jung’s ‘Let’s Say Goodbye’. The outlet wrote that she cleared a high-note challenge 5 keys above the original and that the performance drew attention online. Writing on 25 February 2026, Bridge Economy said of the same performance that it won over viewers and Parc Jae Jung himself.
Parc Jae Jung is a singer and songwriter with the agency Romantic Factory. ‘Let’s Say Goodbye’ is his best-known song, and the album notes on Bugs describe it as a hit of 2023. Newsis added that Sullyoon has also sung as a solo vocalist in the cover content on the group’s official YouTube channel and on JTBC’s web variety show Begin Again Open Mic.
The proposal came from the writer of the original
Her agency JYP Entertainment told Newsis: “This collaboration between Sullyoon and Parc Jae Jung came about at the suggestion of Parc Jae Jung, who was deeply impressed by Sullyoon on ‘Limousine Service’.”
The album notes on Bugs set out a little more of the order in which the song was made. Parc Jae Jung wrote and composed ‘Always’ himself, and worked on it from the first sketch with a duet with a female artist in mind. While looking for a voice that suited the song, the notes say, he came across Sullyoon’s televised cover of ‘Let’s Say Goodbye’ and proposed the collaboration.
The credits go back to the pair who made ‘Let’s Say Goodbye’
Tenasia wrote that ‘Always’ brings back together Parc Jae Jung and Park Hyun-jung, the pair who made ‘Let’s Say Goodbye’. The Bugs credits say the same. The lyrics are by Parc Jae Jung, the music by Parc Jae Jung and Park Hyun-jung, and the arrangement by Park Hyun-jung with Mr.Black; the vocals are Parc Jae Jung and Sullyoon. The strings were played by Yung String, and Park Hyun-jung arranged and conducted them.
Bugs lists the record as a single and its genre as ballad, with two tracks: ‘Always’ and its instrumental. It is planned by Romantic Factory and JYP Entertainment and distributed by Kakao Entertainment. Financial News described the song as a ballad about a parting and quoted the line “I wish even the pain of this parting I feel now would stay with me, unforgotten, now and then for a very long time.”
What went out in the three days before release
Financial News and Tenasia set out the run-up date by date. On 22 February 2026 Sullyoon and Parc Jae Jung appeared on the YouTube channel JAYKEEOUT and sang ‘Always’ live; on 23 February part of a live clip filmed in a large theatre went out. At 6 p.m. KST on 24 February the full music video was pre-released.
The track reached streaming services at 6 p.m. KST on 25 February. Newsis reported that earlier, on 6 February, the two agencies had announced the release date and put out a piece of content playing part of the song in advance.
