The record
Re:Scene is RESCENE’s debut single album, released on 26 March 2024 at 6 p.m. KST under THE MUZE Entertainment. It has two songs: ‘YoYo’, pre-released on 29 February 2024, and the title track ‘UhUh’. A showcase was held on release day at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District, Seoul, and Sports Kyunghyang announced a fan showcase at 8 p.m. the same day.
The group’s name joins scene and scent: the agency describes each record as carrying its own fragrance, an idea drawn from the Proust effect.
The scent
This record’s scent is floral. The album introduction presents it as a record that shows the members through the medium of flowers, and Sports Kyunghyang announced the scent the day before the debut. The Korea JoongAng Daily reported that the showcase hall carried a soft floral aroma from the perfumed blotter paper included in each physical copy. In a December 2025 piece, The Fact set out the run that followed: floral here, then ambergris, soap and grass, one scent per record.
Reviews
Writing Idology’s 10 best rookies of 2024, Binunmul (비눈물) noted that RESCENE took the Proust effect as their starting point and made scent the group’s identity, which is “not a simple concept, but something dissolved through the audio, the visuals and the choreography, giving the listener a synaesthetic experience”. Of this record’s title track the same piece wrote: “the debut song ‘UhUh’ left a strong first impression, tuning a flow that moves between restraint and eruption over a bass that stands out.”
So Seung-geun opened his Glow Up review for IZM the following year with the sentence “the most important instrument in RESCENE’s songs is the bass”, and traced that bass back to ‘UhUh’ on this record. Park Seung-min, at the same outlet, wrote in IZM’s best Korean singles of 2024 that this record’s two songs served to draw the group’s “rough blueprint”.
