What happened

‘Blingy’, the title track of NCT 127’s seventh full-length album BLINGY, took first place for the first week of September on MBC’s Show! Music Core, broadcast on 5 September 2026. Soompi reported it as the first win the song has taken. Asia News Agency also reported that NCT 127 finished first on that broadcast.

According to Ilgan Sports, the group gathered 5,778 points from streaming and physical album scores, 663 from video and broadcast scores, 1,300 from the viewers’ committee and global pre-voting, and 1,000 from live app and text voting, for a total of 8,741 points. Soompi gave the same total.

After the win, Taeyong said, “We came back with a new album for our 10th debut anniversary, and I’m so grateful to Czennie (시즈니) for making this precious award,” and added, “We’ll work harder for another ten or twenty years to become artists who show you a good side of us.”

MBC’s official YouTube channel, MBCkpop, posted the stage the same day under the title ‘first place, first week of September’.

The trophy is the first music show win for the album the group released for its 10th anniversary. BLINGY is the group’s seventh full-length album, out on 24 August 2026, and the anniversary Taeyong named on stage is the point it sits on.

There is a reason the score is reported in four blocks. Show! Music Core publishes its criteria for choosing a number one under its weekly chart post, and the post dated 24 August 2026 states that the pre-broadcast score is built from streaming at 50 per cent, physical albums at 10, video at 10, broadcast plays at 5, the viewers’ committee vote at 5 and global pre-voting at 10, and that this score picks the three candidates. Live app voting at 6 per cent and live text voting at 4 are then added for those three only. The four blocks Ilgan Sports listed are divided the same way: streaming and albums, video and broadcast, pre-voting, live voting.

Another figure from the same week was reported alongside it. Gukje News wrote that in the country charts Hanteo Chart published on the morning of 4 September, for the fourth week of August, BLINGY took first place in all three sections — a composite index of 13,618.63 in the United States, 14,542.91 in Japan and 28,642.70 in China. The counting period ran from 24 to 30 August. The same article said the chart is a composite built from each country’s physical album, streaming and social portal data, and that it is published every Friday.
